Funding and withdrawals: USDC on Polygon
Where the balance lives, what it costs to move, and how to not lose a deposit to the wrong network.
The balance is USDC on Polygon
Your Polymarket balance is a stablecoin, USDC, on the Polygon network, held in a wallet you control. Deposits in other assets and networks are converted automatically by the deposit flow; sending the right asset on the right network is cheaper and faster.
Getting USDC
The usual route is an exchange account: buy USDC or USDT, withdraw to your Polymarket deposit address on Polygon. Network fees on Polygon are a few cents; exchange withdrawal fees vary from $0.1 to a few dollars. Always send a small test amount first, and never send tokens on a network the deposit page does not list.
Withdrawing
Withdrawals go to any Polygon address, instantly, for cents. From an exchange deposit address you can then sell for fiat, or keep the USDC. Keep the transaction hash until the funds show up.
Keys and safety
Polymarket accounts created by email use a managed wallet; wallet-based accounts use your own keys. In both cases nobody legitimate will ever ask for your seed phrase. Bookmark the site, ignore "support" in DMs.
